A stunning pair of WMF vases that I believe were once fully silver plated. It is believed that the shape is known as 'Empire style' and features bands of laurel leaves on conical shaped bodies held on a trio of legs finished with clawed feet standing neatly upon triangular bases.
Each vase is marked with the dashed arch WMF stamp.
The vases measure approx 31.5cm tall and weigh 452g & 463g.
These lovely WMF vases have lost most of their silver plating which reveals most of their Britannia/nickel base metal. They have also suffered from a few knocks which means that they do not stand perfectly upright and the handles along with other parts including the bases are a little misshapen. There is however no denying that these fairly rare vases are still wonderful pieces and a pair suitable for any true collection.
