A nicely executed original oil painting on board entitled 'River Meadow' by listed Artist 'Hector Fraser'.
Art was a large interest of Hectors after agriculture and apart from a period in the 1950's when photography dominated, he always painted, sought out good artists and learnt a great deal from them. He completed a foundation Course and held an 'A' level in Art. He went on to teach painting in further education and happily demonstrated to many art societies. He also felt honoured to judge and appraise work at various exhibitions and meetings. Hector mainly worked in pastels, acrylics, gouache and oils and created mainly impressionistic landscape pieces. He had five one-man exhibitions, two combined exhibitions and showed his works widely at many open exhibitions including the Pastel Society at the Mall Gallery in London where in 2006 he received the Frank Herring award. He was also proud to have pictures in municipal ownership and in private collections throughout the World. He later became the President of Driffield Art Club, and a member of Hornsea Art Society and was a proud membership of the 'Flyingdales group of artists' between 1986-1995, a well respected British, Yorkshire art group within the art world.
